When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen’s The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage – and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.
Read between the lies.
Many years ago my genre of choice was mystery thrillers and I couldn’t get enough of them. I loved the suspense of not knowing who was the “bad guy” and all the twists and turns just blew my mind. When I read this genre I typically like to go into the book not knowing too much, I don’t want to be spoiled by anything on the book jacket. Also, as I’m reading I try to keep myself from analyzing the story too much and trying to figure out the twists in advance. I prefer to be blindsided and not see them coming. It’s the suspense and the unknown that makes me love this genre so much. Recently I’ve been trying to get back into these types of books after taking several years away from them. This book was me dipping my toe in and testing the water. The two authors pulled me right in and let me tell you the water is perfect.
This book is absolutely amazing! I didn’t see the twists coming before they happened, and there were several times when I was sitting on my couch and I literally gasped as I was reading. I may have even dropped “Shut the F**k Up!” a time or two.
The characters in this book are twisty and amazing. If you love a book with an unreliable narrator this is the one for you. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, so I’m going to leave this review vague and somewhat short.
I did read that this book has already been optioned for a film, and I so hope that happens, because I think it will be amazing. I’m not sure how they will pull it off, but I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
All I have to say is read this book! You won’t be sorry!
